New Team Vicar

On the evening of Thursday 1st June we welcomed a New Team Vicar, The Revd Karlene Kerr, to join our team at St Faith's.

Here is a photo of Karlene and a piece she has written about herself.

Dear St Faith’s Family

I am excited to be writing this letter to you and feel blessed that God has called me to serve St Faith’s and the community of Gaywood. I have been staying in Norfolk since October 2016, and although originally from Jamaica, I have lived in London for most of my life. I have an adult daughter who lives and works in Berkshire, and two elderly cats who will be moving with me to Gaywood. I think they’re looking forward to the move too!

I trained for ordination at St karleneMellitus college in London and also served my curacy in London. Prior to ordination training I worked in various sectors – the health service, sales, finance as well as the charity and public sector. I believe that my extensive and rich experience in working with and relating to people in all manner of situations has prepared me for and will be invaluable in my ministry here. However, I am looking forward to learning from the team as well as the congregation.

My faith background is ecumenical – family members are Anglican, Methodist, Baptist, Seventh Day Adventist, Catholic and Pentecostal. I have attended most of these at various times. My ecumenical experiences have made me appreciative of the gifts each denomination brings to the church, but also of the importance of working together as members of the Body of Christ.

I am a huge film fan, love watching quality TV dramas and comedies and also enjoy reading, writing, dancing, music, walking, running and eating anything sweet!

Since my stay here I have been moved by the tremendous warmth and welcome I have received. I am looking forward to meeting you all, and in partnering with you to further God’s Kingdom in Gaywood.

With all blessings

Karlene Kerr
