Kings and Camels in the Woods
The Woodlands Trust & St Faiths Church held a magical Christmas event in Plantation Woods (at the bottom of the Fairstead and Gaywood Park estates).
There the children used their imagination to build a stable for baby Jesus. They used their adventurous side to explore the woods for hidden stars. They used their creative side & combined this event with things the children had previously made at Messy Church.
This included hanging the children's paper chains around the trees & their Christmas ice sculptures on the stable. This wonderful event was all wrapped up with a song & a hot chocolate.
This event was fun for all ages. Even the adults got mucked in.

This was our third year of combining with the Woodlands Trust and Friends of Plantation Wood for a Christmas event. Their team, who do other events in the woods and keep them clear of rubbish, are great people to work with.
This year we planned the event for the end of the school holidays, close to Epiphany. All week the weather forecasts were ominous, with fears of strong winds, but when it came to it, the rain blew over and the winds dropped to a safe level. About forty people turned out, plus reporters from the local papers. There was a real sense of blessing as we turned from Christmas towards the busyness school and jobs.
