“Therefore with Angels and Archangels, and with all the company of heaven, we laud and magnify thy glorious Name; evermore praising thee, and saying, Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of hosts, heaven and earth are full of thy glory”
Words from both the Book of Common Prayer and the traditional Methodist Communion Service which come to mind whenever I come to worship in this most beautiful St Faith`s Church, as has been my privilege for almost thirty years.
At the beginning of the twentieth century a complete restoration and enlargement was carried out, mainly through the inspiration and generosity of Archdeacon Harry Radcliffe and the Bagge family. The most eminent wood sculptors and stained glass designers of the day were engaged and they have given us treasures beyond compare which create an atmosphere of worship as soon as one enters the building and which pervades every service.
The purpose of this website is to tell the stories of the saintly figures all around us and to enable us to get to know them better in close photographic detail
When we recite the Apostles` Creed we declare “I believe….in the Communion of Saints.” May the Treasures of St Faith`s make this more and more a reality.
